We Stayed at Freider and Angelika's place in the Black Forest. We had a great time. We saw a tower castle. A story came with this tower. You would think that it was is a scary story, but it is rather sad. In this tower a prince lived and Princess Katerina lived in a castle nearby. The prince loved the princess and so the princess told her father that she loved the prince. Her father met the prince and thought that he was not so wonderful. The father of the princess hired a hunter to go and shoot the prince with an arrow. When the princess figured out that the prince was dead, she cried and a gnome took her in to live in his cave. Soon she died of her sadness. We went to visit the castle of the princess and we went into the gnome's cave to see her grave. The cave was radio active so the tour guides that lead you don't get to work everyday. They have to switch every day. Angelika got us cute little German toys as goodbye presents.
Guess where we are now? You probably guessed Germany, or some other country, anything but Switzerland. So I am in Switzerland and buying a Swiss army knife. Audrey got a red one , I got blue, and Guy got black. We only stayed there one night because of how expensive it was. Anyway, the food and chocolate were great! We tried real Toblarone and Swiss Fondue for dinner. We had a great time. Einstein lived here and this is where he discovered the theory of relativity. This is his wife's and his Grades. His wife did better in practical physics work.
The Colosseum is a circle shaped area that was used for sports.
It was a place where gladiators fought other gladiators, Christians were killed, animals died and more. It was free to go in the Colosseum because it was a present to the people because of how badly Nero treated them. Nero was an emperor and the Colosseum was built on top of Nero's house after it was torn down.
Suits and armor that gladiators used.
Part 2, Rome's
Typewriter
Victor Emmanuel II Memorial, or as the Italians call it, the "Typewriter". Victor Emmanuel II's Memorial is a huge museum! We went to the top and skipped the museum because it was getting late in the day. We got a magnificent view of Rome and the Vatican. We got a great view of St.Peters Basilica, the Forum and the Colosseum. On the two sides of the "Typewriter" you could see a statue of Winged Victory, the Roman goddess.
Part 3, Rome's
Forum
The Forum is a place where a lot of ruins are. It is huge and there are some very interesting sights.
Part 4, Rome's
Mythology
Roman Mythology is based on Greek mythology, like Trident and Poseidon. Poseidon is the Greek god of the sea and Trident is the Roman god. There was a god of all of the pleasures of life, hunting, child birth, victory and others. Ohh and the godess of kiwis-- Audrey! Joking-- my sister Audrey loves kiwis. She is KIWI KRAZY! and she got to eat a lot of kiwi in Rome. My favorite legend was Romulus and Remus. They were raised by a she-wolf after being abandoned by their mom and dad. Legends say that they built Rome. Remus died because Romulus killed him in a fight over the building of Rome.
Part 5, Vatican City
Vatican city is a separate country from Italy, but it is located in Rome, Italy. It is the largest Christian church. The pope does mass on Easter in front of the church and then gives a speech at the balcony of St.Peters Basilica. He arrives in a bullet proof Pope-mobile when he travels. The Sistine Chapel was cool.
Athens was named after Athena, the goddess of knowledge. The legends say that Athena was in a competition with Poseidon who was the god of the sea. Poseidon struck the ground with his trident to create water, the only problem was that salt water came out. Athena made the "sacred olive trees". That is also the legend of how olive trees were made. It took place on Athens Acropolis. Athena clearly won. So there you have it, why Athens is named Athens supposedly. The Acropolis was cool. Acropolis means "hill top". The Parthenon is on top of the Acropolis with other ruins and temples. We also went to a place that serves local Greek food for dinner.
Santorini is a City-Mega-Volcano, it is said to have the most Beautiful sunsets ever. It was too cloudy, though. My favorite part of Santorini that I liked best was the trip to the crater of the valcano.
The Dalmatian cost is a cost along the waters of Croatia. Croatia is known for The Dalmatian cost. Dalmatian dogs came from there. We went to Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik.
Chapter 2, Split
Spilt (S-p-l-ee-t) is our first stop. Split has a little walled out city.
Paris Paris is a city filled with sights and lights. One of Europe's fashion capitals too. In this entry you go from the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre and off to Arc de Triomphe. Through famous castles along the way, fun in Disneyland, Muse d'Orsay, and more!
Eiffel Tower The Eiffel Tower is in many movies, from 2012 to Ratatouille. The Eiffel Tower put on a fantastic light show every hour for five minutes.
From the top Eiffel Tower you can see all of Paris every corner of it, we (Guy, Dad and I) went up to the top. Mom and Audrey went up to the second staging. The Eiffel Tower was the world's tallest building in 1925. In the summer the Eiffel Tower takes hours of waiting in line to go in. You would have to wait from lunch to dinner or breakfast to lunch! We didn't have to wait in line.
The Eiffel Tower was created by Mr. Eiffel who also helped design the train station that we stayed by in Budapest. The Eiffel Tower has a symmetry line, also a view. I think he even helped construct the Statue of Liberty.
Notre-Dame
Notre-Dame is the cathedral you know by heart, from the story of a hunch-back that rings the church bell inspired the writer Victor Hugo to write the story. His name was Quasimodo. A story by Victor Hugo, called “The Hunch-back of Notre-Dame”. A Disney classic too. We saw the The Great Bell that they usually use. The worlds most photographed gargoyle, and more. In the church there was a original stain glass window, and a newer stain glass window.
Louvre
The Louvre is where the famous Mona Lisa lays. Other Leonardo Davinci pantings too.
I am leaving Croatia on Monday (My time, around 1:50 in the morning on Monday your time.) It is going to be very sad. Luckily, we are not going back this early! We still will have a full month to travel Europe on a eurail pass! First stop Pari!(Paris) Euro Disney in Pari is second to tour. The Eiffel tower is on the first stop. After that Florence! That's pretty much of all of our plans so far!
Karnival (C-ar-n-E-v-a-l) is a big party before Lent. It has many floats and masks. A "pust" too. There were tons of floats. There was songs, cannons (they did not hurt anybody!),animals, animals that smash TVs, and more! There is a traditional thing that they do. In Matuji (a place not far from Rijeka.), they have 800 people dressed as animals and a bell tied to their butts. In the Rijeka Karnival they have more.
The Bell Ringers.
Pinocchio parade part
An animal.
Chapter 2, Pust
The pust (p-oo-s-t) is a fake person that hangs up on a post. You put your problems on it and on a specific day they burn your problems on the pust and the pust.

Venice is a romantic place with many canals. Venice has many canals.Venice is a place where many famous people visit. Venice is in Italy. We rode on a Gondola. We had a Rick Steve's audio tour downloaded to our MP3. We saw the Frari Church, St. Marks Basilica, The Grand Canal.
Elisabeth otherwise known as "Sissy". Was the empress of the Austro-Hungarian empire. At 16, Elisabeth had difficulty adapting to the strict rules of the Hapsburg court. Sissy got assassinated in the end. The Empress was buried in the Imperial Crypt in Vienna's city centre.
Wein is what the German call Vienna. I think it is pronounced (vein). Wein is the German word for wine. German words are a lot like English. Here are some examples:
In English:
Come here my children
In German: Komm her meine Kinder
Pronounced: comen here mine kinder
Did you know that 1/4 of English is German?
The Austrians do not speak Australian (don't get confused Austria is in Europe). The Austrians speak German. Wien is in Austria! Just so you know!
We stayed in Budapest. Buda and Pest are separate places. There are some bridges that cross between Buda and Pest.We went to the Elizabeth Bridge and my favorite one "The Chain Bridge"! The Chain Bridge has chains on it and lions at the entrance to guard the Chain Bridge! It has 2 arches!
These pictures are all of the Chain Bridge!
Part 2 BLUE DANUBE CRUISE
On new years eve we took a cruise, the place we were cruising was on the Blue Danube! It was a............. blue moon (a blue moon is the second full moon in a month!)! A blue moon on the blue Danube in a new year!
The cruise was great and we learned a lot! It turned in circles under the bridges!
Here is the coolest picture of it!
Part 3 WHEN YOU GET CHARGED 10,000 FOR CAR GAS
Think it is a lot? Ha, Ha! 10,000 forint! Here is the American exchange rate:
10,000
divided by
2
Is
5,000
put a dot
before the
2
zero's
you get
50.00
That's about how much it costs!
Here is a picture of the forint!
Part 4 BIG BUDAPEST!
Budapest is the capital city of Hungry. The city covers an area of 525 square kilometers! It also has a "Hero's Square". The "Hero's Square" is a place where they have statues of hero's. In Christmas time the whole city is lit up! Imagine how beautiful it is. Luckily, I have a picture of it on the new years! Shown on the other parts before part 4.
Part 5 A LITTLE TASTE OF HOME!
Almost all of the people in the world like McDonald's, right? Well, we went to one of the swankiest McDonald's! Actually, it did not cost that much! It is very European style with a nice chandelier and two floors.
Very clean with lots of plants.
Part 6 MEDIEVAL RESTAURANT
We went to a medieval restaurant with large quantities of food. It said on the brochure, "Best food in the largest quantities". They were not kidding! Drinks were served in medieval mugs, there was a show and other entertaining stuff. The entertaining stuff was a fire-swallower, a strongman and also a balancing man. To top that off, there was even a good show and a belly dancer. Watch out all you boys!
Balancing a glass on a sword and throwing it up in the air?!
Picking up a metal circle thingy?!
The fire-swallower was very good at swallowing fire!
We invited him over for Christmas. We went to motovun and Pazin. Motovun had a very swanky restaurant that was very pricey and josh paid for it all! Josh is probably around 20 Or 30. Motovun has a graveyard, Court
yard and more.
Pazin had a cave that inspired jules verne to wright "Journey to the center of the earth". Pazin's cave had a water fall too! It made it look like "The entrance to hell". There was plenty of room to play and on the bridge if you look to the right then you see a beautiful green lake! Green means that the lake is clear!

The American ambassador held a party at his house for Christmas. We made cookies, ate some stuff and visited Santa! We all got presents, I got a band thingy to make bracelets with, Audrey got a jump-rope, Guy got a rubeix-cube! We where one of the most well-dressed family's. My favorite part was making cookies, because you could decorate them with any thing you wanted! There were different shapes and sizes of cookies!!!!!!! I liked the stars the best.
